As our class begins to heighten the intensity in terms of designing elements for the 75th Anniversary Exhibition, we recently were tasked and assigned to finally create designs to begin the process.
As individual designers in the class, we each were encouraged to design one piece of exhibition signage, three large wall graphics, two patterns, and two pieces of ephemera to present in a class critique. Attached below in a slideshow, are my initial designs for each of the assignments.
Although only initial designs, I believe that I have successfully implemented enough positive characteristics from my research of signage, graphics, patterns, and Ephemera to begin the stage of refining and becoming more comfortable with this type of work.
Starting the process has made the objective more tangible and clear. Prior to completing design work, I was thoroughly creating an atmosphere of generated ideas from my research. Now that we have completed one round of design work, and some of the elements of the exhibition are becoming clearer, the goals seem tangible. I have since become eager to strengthen and transform my ideas into a comprehensive element of Merrimack’s 75th Anniversary Exhibition.
