March 25th, 2022
After nearly a month of individual and group work regarding both design and writing, March 25th marked the date for our next collaborative session with Professor Robin’s history class. As mentioned before, Professor Wynn and Professor Robin’s class will meet for four collaborative sessions where information, ideas, progress, etc. will be shared among the groups that the students have been placed into.
The second collaborative session was scheduled and used to primarily work with our groups, present our current work, and discuss further changes and movements that we will have as a group, but also individually. At the center of our conversation, was the progress that each of us has made in terms of writing our description for our assignment artifact(s). Professor Wynn’s design students are responsible for just one artifact, while professor Robin’s students must complete two at least.
My group in particular discussed and peer-reviewed each essay. Due to the fact that these short essays were deep in the draft process, we thought the best course of action would be to present suggestions on grammar and content within each write-up. This process was smooth and each member of the group was willing to listen to constructive criticism and making for a more overall collaborative session than the first one nearly a month ago.
After we discussed our writing without assigned groups, professor Wynn gave the history students a brief but comprehensive overview of what we, her design students, have been working on for the last month. Seeing the work on the large projector was satisfying, but simultaneously highlighted some flaws in our work.
